Book Blog Week 3

Hi, everyone. A book I read, The Scorch Trials by James Dashner, would have a pretty good soundtrack. Some songs that could be on the soundtrack would be:

  1.      "Don't Stop Believing" by Journey, because Thomas and his gang never give up, even through the hard times in the Scorch. The gang tries and perseveres throughout the entire book.
  2.      "Just A Dream" by Nelly, becuase Thomas does think the entire journey throughout the Scorch is just a hallucination. Also, since the song is about a person thinking about somebody, Thomas also thinks about someone that he loves. This song would go well in a soundtrack for the book.
  3.      "No Sleep 'Till Brooklyn" by The Beastie Boys. I chose this because of the title. Thomas and his gang have only a few days to get to a safe haven out of the Scorch. They can't rest that much, and they barely ever sleep. I felt that this song's title explains the group's mentality about getting to the safe haven.
  4.      Finally, I chose the song "We Made It" by Linkin Park and Busta Rhymes. This song is about people perservering and not listening to what others say, and then accomplishing their goals. This song is almost telling the story of this book. Thomas and his gang do make it through the Scorch, and they do what they knew they always could even though the enemies said they would not.
That's all I have to say this week, and I have no questions or suggestions. Have a good week.

Books Week 2

This week, I started "Gods of Manhattan" by Scott Mebus. It's a pretty good book so far. It is science fiction, and it counts as 2 books. It is about a boy, and one magic trick by a magician allows hime to see the other magic side of New York City, Mannahatta. One character that would seem interesting to talk to would be the main character, Rory. The 4 questions I would ask him are:
  1. Do you like New York City?
  2. Why are you able to see Mannahatta after one trick?
  3. What's better: NYC or Mannahatta?
  4. Do you like being able to see Mannahatta?
The answers to these questions would probably be:
  1. Yes, NYC is pretty cool. It's fun.
  2. I don't know. I'm still trying to figure it out.
  3. NYC, because Mannahatta has monsters and other bad things.
  4. Not really, because everything in Mannahatta is trying to steal me and kill me. It's not very fun.
I am not very far in the book, so I don't really know Rory's feelings about Mannahatta yet. The book is pretty decent so far, though. I would probably recommend it.
Does anyone have any books that they recommend? Thanks.
     The end.

llll

making sure these post.....

First Post

Hi. This week, I am reading The Scorch Trials by James Dashner. It is a pretty good book. The genre is science-fiction. So far, it is a very good book. It is the second book in the "Maze Runner" series, and it is just as good as the first book. This book is the story of what happens after Thomas finds out the secret of the Glade. He goes on a tough journey with the rest of his group from the Glade which is called the Scorch. Thomas could easily be seen as realistic. He is just an average teenager, but his life is changed one day and is trying to remember what has happened. He does not have any superpowers or special features. He is a natural leader. Some other characters, called the Cranks, are not very realistic. The Cranks are the main enemy throughout the story. They could probably be compared to a zombie or monster. They have caught a disease that changes them and turns them to evil creatures without any common sense. It just doesn't seem likely to ever be seen. This book is very good, though, and I highly recommend it.
The best book I have read all year is Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card. It is about a boy named Ender in the future who is sent to a military training school. The book is the story of his life and future while in the school, and he realizes he is a very importnat person. The book is very entertaining. It is funny and it can be sad. But, Ender's Game is a great book and will definitely be a good book to read.

I recently finished the 40 books, so I don't need any recommendations in any categories. That's all I have to say. Bye.
